Cooper & Company General Contractors Inc. has been selected to construct one of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s newest projects–the Calhoun Investigative Office.

Construction will include an 11,900 SF pre-engineered metal building with masonry veneer. The building will house offices, storage, meeting rooms, support spaces and a mechanical platform in the attic. In addition to the new office building, the scope of work also includes a separate forensic garage building of 5,700 SF. This building will also include offices and support spaces as well as vehicle service bays and lift.

Cooper & Company was chosen to perform the work by the Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission. “We are honored to be selected to construct the Calhoun Investigative Office,” Jim Cooper, Vice-President of Cooper & Company said.

The cost of the project is $5.9 million, and construction is set to begin in mid-October.
