The Cobb County School District will begin their summer planning with a new Data Recovery Center. Cooper & Company alongside Croft & Associates completed a new construction single story building for the technology department.

The project consisted of a 15,270 sf ground up steel framed, brick veneer building. The Data Recovery Center features warehouse space, a server room, and administrative offices. Site-work included demolition of the existing structure, grading, underground detention, paving, and security fencing.

A huge challenge of this project was the extreme amount of rain that happened in January, February, and March of 2020. It rained over 25 inches in those three months. During the weather delays, the Cooper team worked hard to allow CCSD to occupy the building. We installed a temporary rock driveway from the main road to the back of the building for fire truck access.Cooper & Company | Data Recovery Center

Cooper also had challenges surrounding COVID-19. We continued to work an accelerated schedule to work around the in-person inspector challenges related to the virus. Project Manager, Kristin Edwards, was happy with her first completed project with Cooper & Company.

“Given the current culture with COVID-19, I was very grateful to our team to get the Certificate of Occupancy on time,” Edwards said.

The Cobb County School District Data Recovery Center is located at 484 Glover Street Marietta. We are excited to continue our partnership with the Cobb County School District and Croft & Associates on the Instructional Support Center project next door.
