Cornelia, GA – The media and public are invited to join Cooper & Company General Contractors, Inc in conjunction with the Cornelia City Commissioners and the New Municipal Project Team as we celebrate a pivotal milestone for the new Cornelia Municipal Complex on Friday, September 6 at 10 AM.
A topping out event is a ceremony to recognize a pivotal point where the last beam is placed atop a structure. During the event, members of the team and city dignitaries will be allowed to sign the beam or “make their mark” on a structure that will represent the city for many future generations.
Cooper & Company General Contractors President Steve Cooper stated, “that our recent work in this community has allowed me to see just how much this project will mean to the area. Therefore, we wanted to celebrate this milestone with those who helped us get to this point in the project and the community.”
The Cornelia Municipal complex consists of two buildings. The first is a combination city hall and police facility. The second building will be the new home for the Cornelia fire department. The topping out event will commemorate the final beam on the city hall structure.
“We are excited to be at this point in the project and to be able to share the opportunity to the public to forever be a part of this building by signing their name on it” stated City Manager Donald Anderson.
The construction is anticipated to be completed on this project by the end of 2020.
The team invites you to join them at the corner of Foreacre and S. Main St for the official topping-out ceremony for this landmark project for the City of Cornelia.
Light refreshments will be served.
